ACCT 2101 - Accounting Principles I

Description

A study of the underlying theory and application of financial accounting concepts.


Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:

  1. Analyze effects of basic transactions on the accounting equation
  2. Journalize basic transactions and adjusting entries
  3. Describe the steps of the accounting cycle
  4. Describe the content and purpose of each of the four basic financial statements
  5. Prepare a basic balance sheet, income statement, retained earnings statement, and statement of cash flows (indirect method)
  6. Calculate basic business ratios and explain their significance
