PMGT 3640 - Project Cost and Procurement Management

Description

This course focuses on project management cost and procurement topics including: resource estimation, budgeting, planning, cost control, vendor selection/management, legal/ethical aspects, and scheduling of resources in the project environment.


Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:

  1. Apply project management concepts to budgeting and cost control.
  2. Determine project resource requirements, procurement plan, and schedule.
  3. Develop proposal documentation and appropriate selection criteria to evaluate bids.
  4. Describe best practices for contract negotiation and vendor relationships.
  5. Identify legal and ethical issues regarding project procurement.
  6. Analyze and report on cost and risk mitigations to meet project goals.
