DATA 3502 - Data Architecture

Description

This course covers rules, models, policies, and standards that govern the type of data collected and managed within an organization. It emphasizes the tasks of data architects/data managers, i.e., reviewing and analyzing organizational data infrastructure and future databases and the implementation of solutions to store and manage data for organizations and their users.

Learning Objectives

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Interpret business requirements into databases, data warehouses, and data streams.
  • Identify procedures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Understand application programming interfaces (APIs) to retrieve data.
  • Analyze, plan, and define data architecture framework, including security, reference data, metadata, and master data.
  • Understand the implementation of data management processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other teams within the organization to devise and implement data strategies, build models, and assess shareholder needs and goals.
