HRMT 3670 - Introduction to Human Resource Management

Description

This course is intended as an overview of the field of human resource management for the non-major. Emphasis will be placed on management responsibilities regarding the organizations human resources.


Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:

  1. Understand the basic concepts of HRM from a systemic, strategic perspective;
  2. Describe the major functions and processes of HRM and understand their relevance to managers and employees in work organizations;
  3. Apply relevant theories to the management of people in organizations;
  4. Identify HRM problems in a real-world organization and recommend solutions; and
  5. Enhance analytical thinking and writing skills while exploring HR problems and issues
