Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:
- Utilize a series of measurements to describe who you are, in terms of Big Five traits, personality traits, and your approach to different situations, and describe how those traits and tendencies influence your decisions, preferences, and managerial interactions.
- Utilize knowledge gained in the process of defining yourself to reasonably infer where others would score on those same traits.
- Develop strategies that can make you a more effective manager by developing better relationships with those you work with and lead by utilizing what you know about yourself and infer about others.
- Develop a process to improve motivation in an organization by utilizing ideas in various motivational theories.
- Determine the appropriate approaches to use in various conflict management and negotiation scenarios to achieve a desired outcome.
- Effectively utilize appropriate power and persuasion techniques to influence a situation towards a desired outcome.
- Critically analyze the structure of organizations and build a case for why a particular structure can provide desired results better than other structures.
