MKTG 4840 - Social Media Marketing

Description

Provides students with knowledge and understanding of the history, importance, and real world application of social media as a part of marketing strategy. Students will learn current social media platforms and their application in social media marketing strategies of current industry leaders.


Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:

  1. Describe the origin, evolution, and importance of social media.
  2. Explain current social media trends and discuss their relevant marketing implications.
  3. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of various social media tools and platforms by creating extensive, engaging, and effective social media content that supports a specific marketing strategy.
  4. Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of a social media strategy of a leading company.
  5. Design a new, creative and effective social media strategy as a part of the marketing strategy of a specific company.
