Description

Focuses on designing and implementing evidence-based reading interventions for students who require intensive support. Includes strategies for addressing persistent difficulties in decoding, fluency, and comprehension within Tier 2 and Tier 3 instructional settings.

Learning Objectives

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • LO1: Identify characteristics of students who require intensive reading intervention and describe the components of effective Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports.
  • LO2: Design and implement evidence-based interventions to address persistent reading difficulties in decoding, fluency, and comprehension.
  • LO3: Evaluate student progress using ongoing data collection and make instructional adjustments to intensify or individualize intervention as needed.
