CRJU 3600 - Criminal Justice Administration

Description

Introduction to criminal justice management theory, practice, and policy. This course includes a review of traditional schools or organizational theory, including bureaucracy, scientific management, human relations, and the behavioral approach, with particular emphasis on how each applies to criminal justice agencies.

Learning Objectives

LO1: Students will demonstrate the ability to assess and analyze administrative and management concepts in the criminal justice system.

  • LO2: Students will be able to identify criminal justice “stakeholders” and their influence in the delivery of criminal justice related services.
  • LO3: Students will understand environmental factors that affect the delivery of criminal justice related services.
  • LO4: Students will demonstrate the ability to use their understanding of criminal justice organizations and contexts as models and exemplars of administrative theoretical principles.
