Description

Focuses on evidence-based high-leverage behavioral and instructional practices for teaching middle and secondary learners with disabilities in inclusive and special education classrooms.

Learning Objectives

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • LO1: Describe the learning characteristics and academic needs of secondary students with disabilities in inclusive and special education settings.
  • LO2: Apply evidence-based behavioral and instructional strategies and curricular adaptations to support access and participation in content-area instruction (e.g., ELA, math, science, social studies).
  • LO3: Design standards-based lesson plans that incorporate differentiation, accommodations, and modifications aligned with secondary students' educational and transition goals.
