Description

This course is an overview of the areas of operations, warehousing, and inventory management. The course will examine each concept as well as their connections and relationships within the supply chain.

Learning Objectives

  • Examine the role operations management serves in the supply chain and measure the impact of government regulation, the economy, competition, customer expectations, and quality on operations management.
  • Analyze the planning and control of resources used in the production process.
  • Correlate supply chain management and its impact on materials management.
  • Evaluate how capacity management occurs at all levels in the planning process.
  • Distinguish the relation of inventory management to each phase of the supply chain process.
  • Differentiate the physical management in a warehouse including: basic warehouse layout, activities involved in handling goods, and controls that are used to work efficiently.
