NURS 4192 - Professional Development Perspectives

Description

Second of two professional development courses with a focus on leadership theories and styles, economic and social issues, change theories, power and politics, and career development.


Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:

  1. Examine the role of the professional nurse manager as leader and mentor.
  2. Plan a project affecting healthcare using change theories.
  3. Explore the political and professional dimensions of care.
  4. Discuss Benner's Novice to Expert Theory with reflective application.
  5. Examine determinants of health and healthcare disparities.
